Escambia County faces many potential types of disasters – hurricanes, tornados, flooding, lightning, wildfires – and even man-made events such as hazardous materials spills and acts of terrorism. The mission of the Division of Emergency Management is to mitigate emergency situations and teach residents how to prepare their families, homes and businesses for disaster.
