Disaster Planning for Kids
Every family should plan for emergencies. Sitting down and talking about your family's plan will help everyone stay calm in the event of a disaster. Topics to discuss should include the types of disasters that could happen, how you are preparing for those emergencies and what you will do if you are asked to evacuate.
Consider having children actively take part in the planning, such as helping create the disaster kit.
